Ukraine has announced the start of large-scale manufacturing for an innovative domestically developed defensive UAV to strengthen its aerial protection systems. Three initial manufacturers have started production, with an additional eleven preparing to set up assembly lines, the defence ministry stated this past Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Combat Conditions

These UAVs will be based on a domestically developed technology known as “Octopus” engineered to neutralize Iranian-made drones. This technology underwent testing in actual battle and demonstrated effective “during nighttime, amid electronic warfare and flying low,” the ministry confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set a target of manufacturing up to 1,000 interceptors each day.
