Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the league office.
The team omitted the name of the player by name in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention Rice directly, shared a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.
Official Complaints Currently Not on File
No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.
Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
